Hey, Early Bird!
Do you love small towns, cozy cottages and endless cups of herbal tea? Elle Early writes charming, low-conflict, delicious little comfort reads (with a teensy bit of edge) perfect for curling up in your favorite chair with a cup of chamomile. If a novelette series that features cozy bookshops and bakeries, with stories that focus on community and belonging are your cup of tea, you have come to the right place to calm your nervous system.
Comfort with a touch of mystery and magic.
Hey there, friend! Consider this a knock on your door where I come with freshly baked banana nut muffins, or peach pie to welcome you to the neighborhood! I should mention that there is always a little hot tea, if you know what I mean. If people weren’t so messy, then I wouldn’t have anything to write about! Someone is always doing something, sneaking around, or getting into trouble, whether it’s with a love spell that took a turn, or a spat about who has the best tulips. I gotta get back so if you want more, then pick up my latest novelette. You can read them in one sitting!
all books
I’ll be honest, I love getting lost in a good book, but sometimes my focus just isn’t there. If you are like me, there have been many times I’ve opened a book simply because I felt guilty that I just spent an hour doom scrolling on Instagram. I know you can relate. I got you. My books are short, fun and filled with cozy small town gossip. You’re welcome.
new releases
The best part about reading novelettes is that you can practically finish them by the time the clock strikes nine pm. Plenty of time to snuggle your fur baby, and watch an episode of Gilmore Girls on your iPad.
But the best part? You can bet that I am already working on the next book in a series so you won’t have to wait long!
for readers
It’s been my dream for a while to have a book community of friends to share a monthly book selection and maybe recipes, journaling prompts, or funny moments with. I’m have a Patreon called the Cozy Rose Book Community! Come join us to read books and basically have the online equivalent to a slumber party. Click link to learn more about the community.

These days everything feels so hard, and it is. The more challenging life is, the more I just want to crawl inside my Holly Hobbie sleeping bag and be whisked away to a place where all dogs get rescued by loving parents and ice cream sundaes are a healthy treat.
I started out writing super serious, author-y books, to ya know…be a good writer I guess. I even got an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill (which was amazing, and if I could do it again I 100% would!) but I realized that the more I tried to write important, elevated prose, the worst I felt about my writing.
It just didn’t feel like me.
Not that I don’t love a good passage filled with poetic flourish, but as a writer, I am a reader first and though I love important books, these days I just want to feel immersed in a world that is homey and cozy, and about the things we most love to gossip about…other people! Especially if those people are witches and live in tiny cottages, with rose gardens and delicious autumnal veggie stew cooking on the stove. Throw in a grumpy neighbor and a cat or two and that is what I consider a recipe for a night well spent.
So come with me, and let’s remember the beautiful, silly and simple parts of life that make us glad we are human, and happy to be together.
I host a book club over on Patreon called the Cozy Rose Book Community. We read a new book each month, enjoy a reading sprint, and Live Zoom discussion. You might even get the rare HoneyBee sighting which will be thrilling if you enjoy three pound chihuahuas. And really, who doesn’t? Come sit with us!
