I write small town gothic romance with a bit of suspense. My settings are usually the kind of places I would like to explore. Musty attics filling with unopened boxes, old houses and forgotten nooks and crannies.
I have a nostalgia for a time before there was so much technology at out fingertips. My books focus on the atmosphere of the places and emotional depth of the characters. I love a spooky but cozy vibe.
I love: themes of found family, quirky heroines, brooding heroes, haunted places, folklore and small town life. Think Twin Peaks meets Crimson Peak meets Gilmore Girls.
I write small town gothic romance because I love stories with a lot of heart, a bit of heat, and settings are a little haunted. I want people who love a creepy house, old cemeteries, and lost relics to feel at home in my worlds.
left hand path
When I’m not writing fiction, I’m studying the lineage of the rose. This is a form of gnostic mysticism called the left-hand path. We are sometimes called Magdalenes because of the form of magic that we do.
crafting
Part of my witchy practice is creating tarot mats and ritual items using found fabrics, cutting up old clothing and repurposing them into something beautiful. I love to do this while listening to audio books.
journaling
I search for old photos, letters and scrapbooks when I go to thrift stores, or antique stores. I find the snippets that folks leave behind to be a magical portal into the past. My collection is an endless source of ideas for stories.
“
I write stories that remind us that everyone deserves a cozy blanket, cup of tea, and a place to belong.
